Film/TV Music

I wanted to tell you about my new book, aimed at unsigned musicians just like you. It's called "How To Get Your Music in Film & TV" and is the only book of its kind. Published by Music Sales (the largest publisher of music books in the world) it gives you all the information you need to find Film & TV projects that are looking for music from unsigned artists ... and then tells you how to sell it to them.

Under a non-exclusive agreement, you are not assigning any permanent rights to the other party - you still own everything. Therefore, you will still be able to do other non-exclusive agreements. You should also be able to sign an exclusive agreement for the same song as well, but you must tell the party to whom you are signing the exclusive agreement about previous non-exclusive agreements.

Production Music - often known as Library Music - is not for use or sale to the general public: it is purely intended for professional usage in TV, Advertising, Corporate communications & similar businesses. It is invariably instrumental.

Placing Music in Films & TV shows has become one of the most important jobs at Record Companies and Music Publishers. Why ?? As record sales have dropped over the past few years, industry executives have looked to replace that lost income. Not only is Film/TV music placement lucrative, it also serves the dual purpose of promoting an artist or their latest release.
